A Restored Heritage Home in Brisbane
The story of Miss Midgley’s is written into its walls. Throughout the restoration, layers of history were uncovered and thoughtfully preserved. Exposed stone walls, ornate plaster ceilings, stained glass windows and fragments of hand painted wallpaper now sit alongside contemporary design, creating spaces that feel both grounded and quietly refined.
Each apartment has been shaped by the original building, with subtle differences that give every stay its own character. There is a sense that nothing has been overdone, only revealed.
Miss Midgley’s is the work of Lisa and Isabella White, a mother and daughter duo with a shared background in architecture. Both graduates of the University of Queensland, their vision and careful approach to restoration have brought new life to this remarkable old building.
notes: Miss Midgley’s was named after a school teacher that operated a ladies school there for 50 years.
